ABOUT THE WILDEVY

Who is the Wildevy Manne?
The Wildevy Manne is a non profit organisation that was formed by a few dedicated men to raise funds for charities and less fortunate people in Burgersfort/Steelpoort and Lydenburg area, this is not limited to this area, as we have homes and institutions as far as Rustenburg, Randfontein and Bothaville that benefit.

This anuual event for 4x4 enthusiast held on the farm of PLM Boerdery 10 km outside of Burgersfort. We attract participants from far and wide to come and compete in this very popular day. The field is limited to 80 participating vehicles on the main 4x4 course; here the driver and co-drivers skills and abilities are tested.

Local businesses, churches and schools are used to prepare and sell food and drinks to all the spectators and participants that attend the event. There are other activities to entertain the whole family, play areas for children and stalls and exhibitors for the rest of the family.

The very popular Wildevy MTB race is also hosted on the same day. There are various distances provided for the race, with excellent single track and technical obstacles included on the route. The South African mountain bike champion, Ben-Melt Swanepoel attended in 2013 and highly recommended the race! It has also become a seeded event on the racing calendar.

How are funds raised?
Funds are raised through the entry fees of the participating vehicles, spectator entry, the exhibitors, organizations that prepare food and lastly a beer garden.

We also encourage large companies to make use of our exhibition space and show off some of their products and services.

The different obstacles are manned by companies and a fee is charged for this much sought after positions on the course where companies can advertise themselves and make it enjoyable for the participants.
